Copper Cabling
- Copper cabling allows you to access Power over Ethernet (PoE). With PoE, you can power phones and CCTV. If the power goes out unexpectedly, PoE is not affected.
- Structured copper cabling allow you to use less expensive electronics.
- Most TDM environments were designed to be compatible with copper cabling.
- Fiber cables weigh far less than copper cables.
- Since fiber is dielectric, it is non-flammable. This is an important safety feature of fiber cabling.
- It has a higher bandwidth than copper. Therefore, it could carry approximately 31,000 calls at once!
